Zanzabar

We had to fly to the island of Zanzibar. It was a nice island but very crowded. The Indian Ocean was not really clean enough to swim in. We visited a spice farm which was fun. They wove things for us out of palm leaves. The second day we visited Stone Town and the old slave markets. That was very hear wrenching to see the places they sold slaves and the lock-ups where they would keep 70 slaves on top do each other waiting to be sold! We then visited the markets. Most people have very little place to store food so they shop everyday. We went through the raw meats and fish. What a smell. The fruits and vegetables were beautiful all line up. We then had lunch by the ocean. In the afternoon we visited Prison Island by boat. We were able to see the tortoises. We then had time to relaxe.
