I am so excited to share this trip with you. I cannot promise daily posts. I cannot promise how may post I will make. I will try to post photos along my way in Tanzania! Have fun following this blog! This is my 23rd year of teaching. I taught 15 years of Kindergarten,5 years of first grade and 2 years of 2/3 Challenge. I have five grandchildren who live close by and who I get to see a lot!

Getting Ready to Go!

We leave for Tanzania on Wed. the 16th of June. We are only allowed to each take 33 pounds of luggage each (in a non-wheeled duffle bag) and a small carry-on. A lot of my luggage is photo gear. Our plane leaves Indy at 5 pm and goes to Chicago. We have a 5 hour layover in Chicago - ugh! Then we have a 10 hour flight to Istanbul, Turkey. We have a 2 hour layover and then a 6 hour flight to Mt. Kilimanjaro,Tanzania. We arrive at 1:30 a.m. their time Friday. Then our adventure begins. It will take us about 55 minutes to get to our first hotel in Arusha. We are staying at The African Tulip Hotel for the first 2 nights. Our first adventure will be Friday afternoon. More then! Candy
